The Annual Bere Point Salmon BBQ was a great success!
We had a wonderful time making bannock, adventuring by the ocean, and looking for sea life.
Thank you to Claudia for organizing, it was an amazing day.

Thank you to all the students who participated in Jump Rope for Heart this year.
We raised over $1000.00 for the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Get ready to jump!
All three class divisions will be participating in Jump Rope for Heart.
Supporting kids’ health for more than 30 years, the Heart and Stroke Jump Rope for Heart program encourages kids to get active by skipping rope while they collect pledges for heart disease and stroke research. The program gives children the chance to jump and play alongside 750,000 other kids in more than 4,000 schools across Canada.
For more information, or to register please visit the Jump Rope For Heart website (www.jumpropeforheart.ca).
Hour of Code Update
So far the 4/5 and 6/7 classes have written more that 2000 lines of code. Keep up the good work everyone.

The 4/5 and 6/7 classes had a great time doing the Hour of Code today. Way to go coders!
“Computer science is the art of blending human ideas and digital tools to increase our power. Computer scientists work in so many different areas: writing apps for phones, curing diseases, creating animated movies, working on social media, building robots that explore other planets and so much more.” ~ Hour of Code
The K-3 class continued their plant studies with a plant dissection. Here we are examining a Rhododendron flower.
As part of our Plant Growth Unit, the K,1,2,3 students created their own stop motion animation videos. Please check out their wonderful work below.
We went out to visit our tree today and to answer one of our inquiry questions about the forest.
Owen had asked – Why do little trees sometimes grow out of dead trees?
We found out that these special trees are called nursery logs because they have a lot of baby plants growing on them. This is what the kids discovered about nursery logs.
Dear K/1’s:
What shapes do you think we might find outside on the playground and in the forest?
Here are a few shapes that we found.
A wet, rainy day provided the perfect weather to release our little salmon fry. They have been growing for the past few months in a tank at the school. Our very own Salmon Dream Team has been carefully monitoring their progress, and making sure they are healthy and happy everyday. Way to go Dream Team!
